Carlos Torres has been boxing since the age of 8. His father, Arcadio, was his first coach and taught him the basic concepts of boxing. At age 14 Carlos started boxing at the Southside Golden Gloves Gym in Oklahoma City. He quickly began fighting and making a reputation for himself as a good fighter. In 2002 Carlos won the Oklahoma Junior Olympic Championship where he then went on to win the Regional Championship. He ultimately ended up with a Silver medal at the National Junior Olympic Championships. After graduating high school, Carlos joined the Navy but continued to box. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he moved to Las Vegas to further his knowledge and experience in boxing by training at "Barry's Boxing Center" under Pat Barry and Augie "Kid Vegas" Sanchez. He picked up two more wins in Vegas before returning home to be closer to family and friends. Soon after his return to Oklahoma City, he started teaching at local gyms and working on his own dream of becoming a world champ.
